Everyone is, more visibly seen in all the stock exchanges, egged on by greed alternately followed by instant fear. Very few realize they are really greedy but they willingly rub elbows with business for a more comfortable life even beyond the ability of civilization to provide an even more comfortable life. In so doing the exchanges provide the business elbows rubbing room with the political elbows, as well as the medical elbows, the legal elbows, working union class elbows, and every other elbow you can imagine. After you have more money than the majority you are moving in the arena of the ultimate aphrodisiac, power. Power is always good, good for the one who can exercise it. Everyone is in this competition, even those who are not in it directly. If their pension is not in it, their fortunes still rise and fall in it with everyone else because their job is in it, their shopping is in it. Their production and consumption is perceived in the exchanges. The reason capitalism survives without the massive and persuasive advocates socialism enjoys is because capital is its own advocate and it takes little effort to exercise it. Who needs persuasion? Why bother teaching ducks how to swim? Any medium of exchange that is regulated will slowly unregulate itself anyway albeit in a less prosperous manner whether in a black market exchange or not. This is true for all mediums of exchange. Words are mediums of exchange for ideas. Speech, like money, should not be regulated because it limits decision makers. The more decision makers in the market exchanges there are, the better for the other exchanges to function at the best beneficial peak for all the participants. When this does not happen, usually war fills the vacuum. Capitalism functions in any and all situations because we cannot escape exchanging. Ducks swim because of the water and every individual needs a group to best survive. The medium of exchange, perhaps the only one, that should be regulated is force. Any doubled up talk of politics, however, effectively ends our voyage before we even sail.
